Road closures: almost a dozen for Derby drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Derby will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A6, from 8am October 30 to 6pm November 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A50 DBFO - A6 Spur Thulston Roundabout slip road - northbound, - Full closure - General maintenance works for Avove.

• A52, from 8pm August 21 2023 to 8pm April 26 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A52 eastbound, Spondon entry slip road, diversion route for works on local authority network.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A38, from 8am November 20 to 5pm November 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 northbound and southbound, Toyota to City Hospital, diversion route for works being undertaken on behalf of Cadent Gas.

• A52, from 9.30am November 20 to 3.30pm December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A52 eastbound and westbound, Spondon to Ockbrook, Lane closures for works on local authority network, diversion via National Highways network.

• A38, from 8pm November 23 to 5am November 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 northbound, Toyota Island to A516, Lane closure due to maintenance works.

• A52, from 8pm November 24 to 5am November 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A52 westbound, Ockbrook to Spondon, Lane closure due to maintenance works.

• A38, from 8pm November 24 to 6am November 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 northbound, Mickleover to Kingsway, Lane closures for electrical works.

• A5111, from 8pm November 27 to 5am November 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5111 southbound, Raynesway to Thulston, Lane closure due to maintenance works.

• A52, from 8pm November 28 to 5am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A52 westbound, Borrowash to Spondon, Lane closure due to maintenance work.

• A38, from 8pm November 29 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 southbound, Markeaton to Kingsway, Lane closure due to maintenance work.

• A38, from 7pm December 4 to 5am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 southbound, Little Over to Findern, Lane closure due to works on behalf of Derbyshire County Council.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
