Brian Howard Clough is considered to be Derby County’s greatest ever gaffer.
For our latest retro gallery we just had to throw a spotlight on Cloughie whose humour, biting wit and straight-talking is the stuff of legend.
When Clough walked onto Derby’s Baseball Ground in the summer of 1967, little did we know how much he would impact Derby County’s fortunes.
He oversaw the Rams’ phenomenal rise to success, from second division, to champions of England for the first time in the club’s history, and even reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1973.
He is just one of four managers to have won the English League with two different clubs (Derby County and Nottingham Forest).
From quotes about the Beckhams and Sven Goran Eriksson, take a trip down memory lane and enjoy some of Clough’s top quotes. (We dare you not to laugh, they are hilarious.)
