Road closures: eight for South Derbyshire drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around South Derbyshire will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A38, from 8pm July 13 to 6am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38 northbound, Hilliards Cross to Branston, carriageway closure for survey and inspection works.

• A38, from 8pm October 9 to 6am November 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 both directions Claymills, junction to Toyota junction, lane closure for inspection/survey works.

• A38, from 8pm October 16 to 6am November 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 northbound, Toyota Island, slip road and lane closures for signage works, diversion via National Highways network and local authority network.

• A38, from 7pm October 20 to 5am November 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A50 DBFO - Derby Southern Bypass - eastbound and westbound, carriageway - Full closures - A516, junction 5 to A38, junction 4 - Periodic Re-Surfacing works.

• A50, from 7pm September 7 to 5am November 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A50 DBFO - Foston Hatton Hilton Bypass - A511 to A515 Sudbury Roundabout - eastbound and westbound, - Full closures - Periodic Re-Surfacing works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A38, from 8pm November 2 to 6am November 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38 northbound, between Streethay and Wood End Lane, carriageway closure for utility works on behalf of BT.

• A38, from 7pm November 6 to 5am November 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A50 DBFO - Derby Southern Bypass - A38 Interchange, junction 4 - Roundabout carriageway - Full closures - Periodic Re-Surfacing works.

• A50, from 7pm November 7 to 5am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A50 DBFO - Foston Hatton Hilton Bypass - A511 to A516 - eastbound and westbound, - Full closures - Periodic Re-Surfacing works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
