Luxury Peak District getaway in picturesque Derbyshire village where Tom Cruise filmed Mission Impossible
As a resident of the beautiful county of Derbyshire, I am familiar with the appeal of one of the country’s best spaces.
The wider Peak District is an area I continue to explore, which is how I found myself booked in to review a luxury apartment.

Based one hour away from Derby city centre, the drive there was smooth with lots of pretty rolling countryside to enjoy.
Check in was efficient and the concierge, welcoming.
The luxury one-bedroom apartment with balcony and super king bed comfortably sleeps four people.
The room boasted mod cons such as contemporary kitchen and underfloor heating, which was really appreciated on a somewhat chilly June afternoon.

There are two key reasons why I would return to Rock Mill Apartments.
Firstly, is the proximity to The Cupola Visitor Centre & Kitchen.

This is a boon because unlike any other place where you have to fully research where to go, what to do and where to eat, a stay at The Cupola means everything is done for you.
The joys of The Cupola means it is just a minute’s walk away from the apartment.

Secondly, the Visitor Centre - again at The Cupola - means all the research is done for you, all you do is follow the Heritage Trails.
This is a very thoughtful addition from the owners Colin and Alison Hall, so it feels like you are getting insider knowledge from locals.

I had no idea the site of Mission Impossible filming had taken place just a short walk from our apartment at Rock Mill.

Hide AdIt did feel a little bit special, seeing the film location at Dalton Quarry where a train careered off a cliff in Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 film.
We stayed one night in the apartment, however because we crammed so much in, it has to be one of our all-time favourite staycations where it felt like we did absolutely loads.
This was down to the meticulous planning of the Halls whose Heritage Trails we used.
We stayed one night at the Rock Apartment Chatsworth 27.
