Jorrocks: The 'most haunted' pub in Derby where a human skull was found

And perhaps the most notable among them is Jorrocks, one of Derby’s oldest coaching inns and ‘officially the most haunted pub in Derbyshire’ (or so says its Facebook page.)

Previously known as Lafferty's and The George, this pub dates back to 1693.

Hide AdIt gained notoriety when a human skull was unearthed beneath it in 1994, leading to frequent reports of poltergeist activity.
The pub is said to be haunted by a Victorian lady and features numerous accounts of glasses moving on their own.
Just a minute’s walk from Derby Cathedral, the pub is a popular location for Saturday nights out on the town.

Hide AdAccording to Discover Derby, the pub is said to be haunted by several ghosts including a long-haired man wearing a blue coat.
Reportedly there have been many strange occurrences in the pub, crockery moves itself from the shelves in the kitchen but does not break, and a human groan has also often been heard.
It is a popular location with local ghost hunters.
