Things to do Derby: Acoustic music gigs in stunning Grade II listed church will showcase local talent

A church in Derby is hosting acoustic music events where people can listen to local talent while enjoying a drink at the bar.

St. Werburgh’s Church on Friar Gate is giving musicians and creative artists an important platform to showcase their work.

The people of Derby can enjoy amazing music in an atmospheric church setting for the bargain price of £5.

This is an early bird price which will increase to £7.50 from Friday 23rd February, 2024.

The events are part of Sanctuary Sessions whose line-up includes incredible musicians and creative artists. 

Relaunching the popular acoustic series, the first session will take place on Friday 8th March, 2024. 

It will shine a spotlight on local talent and rising stars who will perform original music in the beautiful, dramatic setting of St. Werburgh’s Church.

Writing on social media, organisers said: ‘We’re all about allowing artists to showcase their work in front of an attentive crowd.

‘Four incredible acoustic artists are bringing their best for you… waiting to transport you into musical bliss.

‘They will be playing original music, you never know who you might discover.’

The four artists playing are Dorothy Ella, Stack Duncan, Charlie King and Romy Rose.

People can enjoy music in unique surroundings while sipping a glass of wine of chilled pint from the card-only bar on the night.

Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.
