BBC New Comedy finalist and local talent head to Derby stage
New comedy dates in Derby and beyond have been announced by the acclaimed comedy collective
Derby comedy series organisers have released new dates of upcoming gigs with exciting starry line-ups.
The Happy Tuesday comedy night is set to take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Karen Bayley will be headlining the gig which will start at 8pm.
There will also be guest MC Amit Mistry plus support from Eddy Midgley, Stephen Gatling and local comedian Lizzy Lenco.
Karen Bayley is a familiar face on the national comedy circuit, making regular appearances at clubs including The Comedy Store, Komedia, Manford’s and Just The Tonic.
She was the first-ever female winner of the prestigious Comedy Store King Gong award and finalist of BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase.
Her comedy style has been described as ‘delightfully saucy’.
Gig organisers say Karen’s friendly and confident stage presence, combined with a killer wit and devastating one-liners make her a comedic force to be reckoned with.
A spokesperson told DerbyWorld about previous acclaimed acts such as Harriet Dyer, Ricky Balshaw and Maxine Wade performing at Dubrek.
They said: ‘We are thrilled at the success our previous acts are having. Not only has Harriet Dyer appeared on Live At The Apollo, but her unique and hysterically funny comedy has also won her the Sean Lock Award.
‘Ricky Balshaw has recorded a special for Comedy Central and Maxine Wade has won the Funhouse Comedy Super Gong!’
Tickets start from £6, more information can be found here.
