Derby Summer Sessions 2025: headliner Simple Minds announced

Derby Summer Sessions’ 2025 headliner has been announced with eighties legends Simple Minds.

It is expected to be a highly anticipated return of the TK Maxx Presents Derby Summer Sessions concert.

The concert follows the success of last year’s inaugural Derby Summer Sessions, which featured world-class headliners such as Madness, Tom Jones and Becky Hill.

The concert will take place on Tuesday, July 8 at Markeaton Park.

Tickets will go on general sale on Friday, October 4, 2024.

It is the second in the series of music events which is a collaboration between Live Nation and leading live music and event promoter Cuffe & Taylor.

Simple Minds comes to Derby 2025

Simple Minds are one of the UK’s most successful bands, with six number one albums and chart-topping success in countries around the world including Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.

Over a 40-year career, the band has explored a wide range of musical styles, from avant-garde and art-rock to stadium anthems, while remaining quintessentially ‘Simple Minds’.

The legendary band has seen three studio albums hit number one in the UK; Sparkle In The Rain, Once Upon A Time, and Street Fighting Years.

They have also headlined major stadiums worldwide, starred at Live Aid, and played iconic shows in honour of Nelson Mandela.

The iconic band will also take to the stage at Southampton Summer Sessions and Bedford Summer Sessions.
