QUAD Derby to host the ultimate girly sleepover with rom-coms and classic movie treats
Pulling an all-nighter has never been more fun
A Derby cinema has announced it will be hosting the ultimate girly sleepover, with a night chock full of rom-coms and treats.
Four blockbusters are being screened during Sleepover At QUAD! in Derby which promises fun flashbacks to your youth.
Films showing for one night only are Clueless (1995), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), The Notebook (2004), and Mean Girls (2024).
Whether you’ve never seen them before, or this is the fiftieth time, these classic movies are bound to get you feeling nostalgic.
Can you remember when you realised Ryan Gosling was perfect in The Notebook?
How soon after watching Clueless did you rush out to buy Cher’s wardrobe - her yellow plaid suit is still epic nearly 30 years’ later?
They are more than films, they are nostalgia and cultural significance all wrapped up in one warm and fuzzy bundle, to evoke fabulous memories of days gone by.
This is why the event is great to bring together friends and family of all ages who can all enjoy awesome performances.
The movie marathon will run from 8.30pm until around 6.30am and QUAD café bar will remain open for the duration of the event for refreshments in the breaks between the films.
An all-nighter wouldn’t be the same without a special menu, details of this will be released shortly.
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy All Nighter at Derby QUAD 2024
Embark on another cool adventure to Middle Earth and through the night, with The Lord Of The Rings all-nighter.
Beginning with The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001), travel to The Two Towers (2002) before keeping an appointment for The Return Of The King (2003).
The great thing about the ‘blast from the past’ movie marathons is you may not have been able to watch them in the cinema when they were first released decades ago.
Now, you can grab your friends, some popcorn and hunker down for a fun night.
A spokesperson for QUAD said: “We’re really excited to launch the two overnight movie marathons for 2024 and hope they will bring lots of people to QUAD who may not have visited before. They have both had a great reception on social media so far, so we’re hoping for a great turn out on the night.”
PS: before you sashay out of the door Cher-style, eager to indulge in a night’s worth of cinematic brilliance, just don’t forget to pack tissues, The Notebook ending had us in floods.
