Events are set to take place across Derbyshire
Remembrance Day is a time when the country comes together to remember those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
The First World War ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.
Since then, November 11, or Armistice Day, has been enshrined as a day for people to reflect and gather to pay respects in an act of national remembrance.
Events similar to Remembrance Sunday which are observed on November 11 include Veterans Day in the United States.
The day is marked with a two-minute silence at 11am which people observe in Britain, the Commonwealth countries and across Europe.
Remembrance day events will take place over the coming weekend from November 9-11, 2024.
Please check with event organisers prior to travelling out to the events.
Some road closures may be in place to accommodate parades and services, so it is worth being mindful of this when making travel arrangements.
