We visit Derby hair salon offering cheapest cut and blow dry in Derbion shopping centre
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Getting a hair cut is more than just personal upkeep.
It is also a great time to just chill out and let someone else do all the hard work.
I love visiting the hairdressers, but owing to a super busy diary, I haven’t had the chance to visit for the month.
This means my barnet was well in need of a good chop.

Hide AdI have found that prices for a cut and blow dry vary from salon to salon, as hairdressers’ depiction of what constitutes a short hair style, varies too.
After a quick ringaround of four hair salons in Derbion shopping centre, I landed on Zeki, which came in at the cheapest price of £32.
Here is the price comparison of all hair salons offering a cut and blow dry, in Derbion shopping centre.
Zeki £32
Top Cuts £38
Supercuts £40
KH Hair £42
I have passed Zeki numerous times whilst visiting Derbion.
It always seems busy and I don’t know why I’ve never visited before.

Hide AdI made an appointment the day before and I was running a little late on the morning, which my hairdresser, Serkan acknowledged with a calm and polite nod.
I must have said around 10 words to him during my stay there that lasted around 50 minutes, just to reiterate that it was a ‘trim, same style, cut and blow dry’ that I was after.
It felt like a no-frills service, hair was washed once, I don’t think I felt any conditioner, but my god, the cut was focussed and probably more in-depth than I usually have at other salons that charge triple.
Unlike other salons that usually leave half my back sopping wet, with bits of hair stuck to my face, Serkan was thorough in towel application.

I wish I had taken a photo straight after leaving the salon, because my hair looked perfect and not a single hair was out of place, thanks to a swift mist of hairspray.
I was rushing off to another appointment so I took a photo of my hair when I returned home after a 20-minute walk in this red hot heat.
It still looks great, I would just like to say that it looked way better five hours’ ago.

Hide AdA hair cut in Zeki was a personal highlight in my hair cutting history.
It is one of the best salons I have been to. Ever.
If you do book, ask for Serkan, who doesn’t bother with small talk - a win in my book - and who concentrates on your hairstyle, as if there was no tomorrow.
I will be returning to Zeki, because I am so impressed with their service.
Address: Zeki, 19a, Theatre Walk, Derbion Centre, Derby DE1 2NG
