Subway adds hot cross buns to menu for limited-edition Easter twist

The year has seen Subway create innovative menu items, the latest which could have fans of Easter intrigued.

Subway is now getting into the Easter spirit this year with two brand-new hot cross bun-inspired menu additions – the Footlong Hot Cross Bun Slice and the Cheesy Bacon Hot Cross Bun Toastie.

Both are available across Derby and wider UK now. You can see all Derby locations here.

The Footlong Hot Cross Bun Slice is a traditionally spiced hot cross bun loaf packed with sweet sultanas, zesty orange and lemon peel.

It is freshly baked in-store daily just like all of Subway’s breads. It comes toasted with Cornish salted butter for a taste of sweet and savoury in one mouthful.

The Cheesy Bacon Hot Cross Bun Toastie offers a more savoury alternative.

Made with the new freshly baked hot cross bun bread, it is packed with layers of streaky bacon, double American-style cheese and topped with BBQ sauce. It is available as either a footlong or 6-inch.

Offering something for both sweet and savoury fans, Subway is hopping into the Easter season with its own special twist on the beloved springtime specialty – with all the aromatic spices and sweetness of the traditional hot cross bun but served up in classic Subway style.

It is available in Subway restaurants nationwide now, as well as online for delivery or Click & Collect via the Subway App.

Subway’s limited-edition Hot Cross Bun range can be enjoyed until the end of April or while stocks last.
