Darley Park Weekender 2024: Everything you need to know about Derby concert with Jason Donovan and Blue

Derby is gearing up to host the Darley Park Weekender, a three-day concert packed with top music talent from days gone by.

The 80s and 90s may seem ‘just like yesterday’. However nearly four decades have passed since a fresh-faced Jason Donovan - who is one of the major stars at this Darley Park Weekender - made millions weak at the knees as he crooned Sealed With A Kiss in 1989.

People will be treated to three days of family-friendly music set in the beautiful surroundings of Darley Park.

Jason Donovan, Chesney Hawkes and DJ Scott Mills will appear at the 80s Mix Tape on Friday August 30, with support from The 80s Reunion and Cassette Roulette.

Honeyz, DJ Chris Moyles and special guests Blue will take to the stage, alongside The Ultimate Boy Band Party Show and Cassette Roulette, on Saturday August 31 for Ultimate 90s.

The third day and grand finale of the weekender features classical music and fireworks galore. You can even bring along your own picnic to make it a night to remember.

The theme for this year's concert is music from the movies, meaning you can listen to tracks from your favourite films against the backdrop of the picturesque Darley Park.

The Darley Park Classical Music Concert

Sunday September 1, 2024

Sinfonia Viva will play a range of classical music including Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, and soundtracks from Hollywood blockbusters E.T., Pirates of the Caribbean and more.

Starts at 6pm

Tickets are £7 per adult, £4 for under 16s

Location for all three music events is Darley Park, Darley Park Road, Derby DE22 1DA

Travel: Visitors are advised to walk or use public transport to get to Darley Park.

Parking: On-site parking is available but must be booked in advance, costing £10 per car.

Food and drink will be available to buy from various traders.
