Hide AdDan, who has been a poetry performer for the past 10 years, is excited by the festival’s evolution and progress over the years.
They said: “It's a joy to see how the scene has grown and developed in this time, and to see how our poetry and spoken word community of performers and producers has developed alongside it.
“How many other cities have a football team who play a spoken word piece before every game? Or have such a vibrant festival scene, including a poetry festival, folk festival and book festival annually in short succession?

Hide AdDan said: “I'd highly recommend the poetry slam on Friday, October, 4.
“There will be 14 poets competing, one will be crowned 2024 Slam Champion.
“The standard of performance is always brilliant, and the atmosphere is always electric, we never know what's going to happen until the first performer walks on stage!"
Derby Poetry Festival runs from Wednesday, October 2, till Sunday, October 6, 2024 at venues across the city.
