Derby is set to host the Kabaddi 2025 tournament this weekend highlighting an exciting return of the sport to the city

Derby is gearing up to welcome England Kabaddi season players this weekend as part of an annual tournament - a sport that the Olympics considers ‘spectacular’.

The tournament will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Bridle Gate Lane.

The Kabaddi matches make a return to Derby for 2025. Following violent clashes involving machetes and guns that marred 2023 proceedings, vigilant organisers shifted 2024’s venue location to Hinckley in nearby Leicestershire.

The games form part of a national tournament organised by the England Kabaddi Federation. This is the official UK-based body, tasked with championing the contact-team sport.

England Kabaddi Season 2025 started on May 11 in Hayes, Hillingdon. It will continue every Sunday for the following 13 weeks.

People can watch the Derby leg at the Bridle Gate site. Tickets are sold on the gate on the date of the event.
